Freya is deeply interested in understanding psychological trauma and associated treatment approaches. In particular, (but by no means exclusively) she has a passion for assisting those who have suffered sexual abuse and other forms of childhood abuse, neglect, or loss. These experiences often result in great difficulty regulating emotions, and forming a healthy relationship with the self and others.
The combination of incredible recent advances in neurobiology and trauma research and the exposure of the western science to the wisdom of eastern traditions, has resulted in an unbelievably exciting landscape for the field of psychology. Freya has gathered an extensive collection of integrative and evidence-based tools to offer her clients in their journey towards growth through trauma, acceptance through loss, and compassion within ones own relationship with self. Freya is in awe of witnessing greater self-compassion and emotional mastery emerge in her clients.

Nil is a provisional counsellor offering low-cost counselling sessions at Speakeasy until late August. Her approach is grounded in the belief that therapy is not about fixing your brokenness, but rather re-discovering your innate beauty and inherent wholeness. Somewhere deep inside, you know boundless love, connection and vitality, but in the haze of life it is easy to disconnect from this knowing and lose your way. Heartbreak, grief, conflict, disappointment, isolation, rejection and oppression can feel all-encompassing and defining: these sessions are an opportunity to begin to re-find your feet and heart, become present, and move with confidence and clarity towards your future.
Nil’s approach is based on deep listening, respect, empathy and compassion, centring you as the expert in your life. She also incorporates dream work, polyvagal theory, Ego State Therapy and themes from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy. Nil's two decades of immersion in esoteric Eastern philosophies provide an opportunity to incorporate meditation, breath practices, mindfulness and yoga asana into the therapeutic process for those inclined.
